Pad printing on closures
Pad printing is an indirect gravure printing process. In this printing process, recesses are etched into a flat plate, a cliché. These recesses are then filled with ink. An elastic tampon stamp made of silicone rubber, also called printing tampon, takes up part of the ink by pressing and transfers it to the packaging to be printed.
With pad printing, very complex-shaped and uneven surfaces and a variety of materials can be printed. Its adaptability is enormous - even a print "around the corner" is no problem due to the elasticity of the printing tampon.
Other advantages of pad printing:
- Fine lines and delicate motifs are possible
- High resistance to mechanical wear or chemicals
- Multicolor prints are possible without intermediate drying
