Packaging fulfils important functions: it protects products, facilitates storage and transport, and ensures safe use. At the same time, the choice of materials, packaging design, transport routes and disposal all influence the use of resources. As packaging specialists, we therefore focus on material-related product information, recycling properties and selected measures within our operational processes and supply chains. The aim is to make packaging decisions more transparent and to provide relevant information in a clear and accessible manner.


Through our C-Program, which we launched in early 2022, we are organising a regional take-back and recycling initiative for selected plastic containers and closures. Suitable materials are collected via C-Boxes at participating partners’ premises, consolidated at our site in Mannheim and then handed over to a recycling partner. There, depending on the type of material, cleanliness and technical suitability, the materials can be processed into regranulate. Depending on the material quality and technical requirements, this regranulate can be used for new plastic applications.


Berlin Packaging | Rixius holds certifications and ratings in various areas. These include, amongst others, ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management. It also holds an EcoVadis rating.

In the area of climate-related data, BP | Rix collaborates with ClimatePartner. Emissions within defined system boundaries have been recorded and assessed. Details regarding scope, time period, calculation method and validity should be disclosed separately or linked to in each case.


Our range includes selected packaging made from rHDPE and rPET, as well as selected options made from bio-based PE. The specific material composition, the proportion of recycled content, the product component concerned and the available evidence depend on the individual item. Where such information is available, it is set out in the relevant product information. In addition, we offer packaging made from glass. Glass should be understood as a type of material and not automatically regarded as an environmental benefit.

Products with specific material properties can be found using the relevant filters and product information in our online shop.

These filters are designed to help you navigate our product range. For example, they may provide information on material type, recycled content, rPET, rHDPE, bio-based PE or glass. The filters do not constitute independent environmental certification.

The relevant product information, technical documentation and available evidence always take precedence.


Our in-house team regularly reviews defined ESG and resource-related measures. This involves examining issues such as material selection, packaging cycles, procurement, certifications and regulatory requirements, amongst others. The measures are further developed on the basis of available data, internal responsibilities and current requirements. The aim is to document progress in a traceable manner and to provide relevant information transparently.
