Lars, what do you do here and how long have you been on board?

I have been on board for 5 years. I started in the Chemistry department and have managed the complete customer management from inquiries to complaints. Currently I am in the newly formed Business Development department and, as Digital Sales Manager, focus on our online customers and the further development of the product portfolio.

What did you do before you joined Berlin Packaging Rixius?

Before I joined Rixius, I worked in sales at a large corporation as well. However, I am somewhat a “career changer” in the packaging industry, since I previously worked in the steel industry in the automotive supplier sector.

How did your onboarding at Berlin Packaging Rixius go?

Since I started in the middle of the Corona peak, I initially had some concerns. However, thanks to top organization, everything went smoothly, so at a later time I even had the opportunity to go through all departments in the company. In doing so, I could get to know many colleagues personally and had direct insights into the practical workflows of the different departments. I would definitely recommend this type of onboarding to anyone, as it is hugely helpful for the further workflow to learn the intersections and tasks of other colleagues.

And what do you especially like about your job?

The varied tasks! From direct customer contact to product analyses there are many different areas where one can have an impact and develop further.

What does your typical workday look like?

That’s very hard to describe, as no day is the same. Among my main tasks is, among other things, calculating quotes and providing phone-based advice to our customers. Additionally there are many other projects, e.g., researching new products and continuously updating the product portfolio. So there is definitely a wide range of topics on offer.

What do you like about us that you didn’t have before?

Berlin Packaging Rixius is, despite the company’s size, very agile on many topics and you get the opportunity to actively contribute everywhere. With flat hierarchies the paths are very short and you find an open ear with every colleague.
