Gernot, can you give us an insight into what a typical day in your role at the Berlin Packaging Rixius GmbH includes?

A typical day begins with checking the key KPIs of our online shop, followed by coordinating with my team and planning/status checks of projects. I work closely with our agencies to implement, for example, web design updates and to ensure that our marketing campaigns run smoothly. In addition, I take care of training and supporting our apprentices and am in constant communication with other departments to develop and implement digital sales solutions.

What motivates you to come to work every day, and what excites you most about your position?

What motivates me above all is the opportunity to drive the digital transformation of our company and to achieve sustainable, measurable results. I'm excited to develop innovative solutions and to see how our work directly impacts the company's success. The variety of tasks and the opportunity to constantly learn new skills keep me motivated every day.

What exciting projects or opportunities can new team members expect in your department?

New team members can look forward to exciting projects in the area of e-commerce and digitization. These include, for example, the implementation of new shop features, the development of creative marketing campaigns and the optimization of our webshop platform. You have the opportunity to work on projects that directly influence business success and to contribute and implement your own ideas.

How would you describe the working culture in your team?

The working culture in my team is characterized by openness, collaboration and innovation. We support each other, share knowledge and experiences and work together towards our goals. Everyone is encouraged to contribute their ideas and suggestions, and we foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement – both professionally and personally.

What has been the most challenging project you have worked on so far, and what did you learn from it?

The most challenging project was the initial takeover of the online shop after I joined the company and the revision, among other things, of interfaces, checkout, registration and product search. It required comprehensive coordination between different departments and careful planning. From this I learned how important clear communication and a structured approach are to successfully implement complex projects. In addition, it improved my project management and problem-solving skills.

Berlin Packaging Rixius GmbH supports my professional development through training opportunities, courses and the opportunity to take on and drive new projects. In addition, one is encouraged to take on new areas of responsibility and to get involved in cross-departmental projects.

What advice would you give someone who is just starting at the Rixius GmbH?

My advice would be to be open to new challenges and to take advantage of the many learning opportunities that Berlin Packaging Rixius GmbH offers. It is important to be proactive and not to hesitate to ask questions or seek help. Network with colleagues from different departments to develop a comprehensive understanding of the company and its processes.

Is there a particular story or experience at Berlin Packaging Rixius GmbH that has stayed with you?

A particularly memorable experience was the successful complete overhaul of the shop checkout. After weeks of hard work and numerous challenges, it was incredibly satisfying to see the system run smoothly and have clearly positive effects on our customer satisfaction and our revenue. The cohesion and collaboration within the team and with our implementation partners during that time left a lasting impression on me and motivated me.
